Hood or bonnet stripes
Single or paired lines can follow the hood’s center or sit off-center. Scoops, vents, badges and strong creases affect the shape. Mini bonnet stripes belong in this category, with the pattern checked against the actual hood.
Vinyl racing stripes and removal
Get the width, spacing and alignment right before the vinyl is cut.
Choose hood, roof, trunk or side stripes that suit the shape of your car. We help define the layout, film and fitted coverage, with old-stripe removal assessed separately when needed.

Placement before pattern

Mark the beginning, panel breaks and end of each stripe before cutting the design.
A design can stop at the hood or continue across several panels. Identify where it begins, which gaps it crosses and where it ends. “Racing stripes” alone is not a complete installation specification.
Single or paired lines can follow the hood’s center or sit off-center. Scoops, vents, badges and strong creases affect the shape. Mini bonnet stripes belong in this category, with the pattern checked against the actual hood.
Agree the stripe width and gap across each body panel. A glass roof, antenna, spoiler or convertible top changes the route. These surfaces are not automatically included in a hood-stripe quote.
Lower-door bands and narrow accents follow different body lines. Door gaps, handles and wheel arches need deliberate stopping points so the design looks balanced with the doors closed.
Understand the amount and the coverage together
Our earlier published guide listed the amounts below by stripe style. They remain useful reference points, but the original listing did not define a vehicle, stripe length, panel coverage, film brand or VAT basis. These are previously published starting figures, not current fixed packages.
A single-color design. Confirm single or paired lines, width, center gap and whether the route covers only the hood or continues across the roof and trunk.
Two colors or an accent border. Price the number of pieces, overlaps, installation and approved panel route. Extra colors do not establish extra coverage.
A printed fade or multicolor design. Confirm artwork preparation, print proof, film, compatible laminate where required and fitting.
A textured finish such as a carbon-fiber look. The material code, texture direction, stripe width and covered panels need to be specified.
Ask for a current written price for your car. Confirm whether film, design, cutting or printing, surface preparation and installation are included. Old-stripe removal, adhesive cleanup, paint repairs, replacement trim and any approval charges must be identified separately. VAT inclusion is not established for the earlier figures.
MINI Dubai’s May 2025 convertible accessories catalog lists Heritage Bonnet Adhesive Film in white at AED 997, including VAT and installation. This is a specific manufacturer accessory benchmark, not our offer or a price for a full racing-stripe layout. Confirm the part number, vehicle fitment and current dealer price before comparing it with a custom design.
Width and spacing are part of the design
A stripe that looks balanced on a wide Mustang hood can dominate a smaller Mini. Choose the width and the unwrapped space between paired stripes together. Start with the car’s centerline and visible body creases, then view the proposed layout from normal standing distance.
A gloss stripe on matte bodywork creates a different effect from black vinyl on a white car. A thin accent border may help define the edge. Compare samples against the actual paint because a phone image can hide the difference between gloss, satin and texture.
The hood, roof and trunk may not present identical widths or curves. Decide whether the lines stay parallel, taper or end before an obstacle. Check the design with the panels closed and agree any change in spacing before the pieces are produced.
Useful for clean single-color lines, paired stripes and pinstripes. Gloss, satin, matte or textured effects should be chosen from identified samples. Film must suit the surface and expected exposure.
An accent line adds another alignment decision. Agree whether colors meet or overlap and check the sample edge. Extra layers can have a visible or tactile step.
A printed fade is fixed in the artwork. It is different from an angle-dependent color shift film. Review a print sample and the proposed film and laminate combination.
If you want logos, door lettering or a broader printed design, see custom car graphics. This service covers adhesive exterior stripes. Electrical lighting strips are a different installation.
Compare the same work before comparing the total
A long line interrupted by vents, handles or panel gaps may involve more measuring and fitting than one continuous piece. Ask whether the price includes both sides, bumper sections and the spoiler. Two quotes are comparable only when the same route is shown.
A clear design file can reduce drawing work, but it still needs sizing and a layout proof. A screenshot may need to be recreated. Confirm which revisions are included and approve the final dimensions before cutting, printing or ordering a factory kit.
Replacement work is two jobs when old material has to come off first. A clean recent decal differs from sun-baked, cracked vinyl. Agree removal and residue-cleanup allowances separately, with approval needed if the inspection reveals unstable paint.
For a simple hood request, start with the vehicle model, one or two stripes and your preferred finish. For a complete layout, add the panels you want covered. You can begin an inquiry without knowing the film brand, exact measurements or technical fitting method.
Replace the stripe without guessing about the paint
Removal involves controlled separation of the film and suitable adhesive cleanup. Brittle material, prolonged sun exposure, weak clear coat or a previous respray can make the work more involved.
A test area and paint inspection help set expectations. The paint may look different where it was covered, even after the adhesive is gone. Removing a stripe cannot guarantee an invisible outline or a damage-free result.
A painted stripe does not peel off like vinyl. Removing it may involve refinishing. A stripe buried beneath clear coat also needs a different assessment from an exposed adhesive decal.
Do not scrape, sand or use harsh solvents to find out which type you have. Let the workshop examine it first. If refinishing is needed, compare the scope with our car painting service.
Tell us about known repainting or existing peeling paint. That information helps assess risk, but it is not a requirement for starting an inquiry. Photos can show the layout while an inspection establishes the surface condition.
Before the design is produced
Show the proposed colors and covered panels to the relevant licensing authority before fitting. Even a small stripe needs its approval requirements checked.
Ask how your particular stripe layout affects the vehicle’s registered appearance.
RTA guidance identifies a Dubai Police eNOC and vehicle inspection before the ownership-data amendment. An installation quote does not establish legal approval.
A company name, promotion or commercial graphic can follow a separate approval route.
RTA lists an advertising eNOC separately from a color amendment. Plan the artwork through car branding and campaign design.
Check the proportions while they are easy to change

Save the stripe widths, center gap and covered panels with the film code for later repairs.
Choose the width, center gap, finish and exact covered panels. Compare front, side and rear views before approving cutting or printing. A reference image can start the discussion without locking you into its proportions.
Check paint stability, old film and coatings. Clean and prepare according to the selected product. Fresh paint needs an appropriate curing period before adhesive graphics are considered.
The layout should follow the agreed reference points, with intentional breaks at openings and edges. Trimming and access need to respect the paint, seals, lights and vehicle equipment. Pre-cut pieces or suitable knifeless tape can help avoid cutting directly against the painted surface. Ask which method suits the chosen layout. Glass, lamps, cameras and sensors are not part of ordinary body-stripe coverage. Agree breaks around them before fitting.
Inspect stripe spacing, edge adhesion and alignment across the closed panels. Keep the dimensions, artwork and film code so a later replacement can be assessed against the original design.
A simple hood set needs less work than multiple panels, old-film removal or a printed design. Confirm artwork approval, material supply and the collection time before leaving the vehicle. The first-wash waiting period is part of the handover instructions.
| What you notice | What to do | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Dirt or fresh contamination | Use film-compatible gentle washing and a soft cloth. Remove spills promptly. | Abrasives and harsh cleaning can mark the surface. Follow the product’s first-wash instructions. |
| Lifting edge or damaged piece | Send a photo and avoid pulling or pressure-washing the loose area. | The affected piece may need replacement. Paint condition and the cause of lifting should be checked. |
| One stripe needs replacing | Use the retained design dimensions, film code and finish. | A new piece may differ from weathered vinyl. Replacing a matching pair can be more consistent. |
| Warranty question | Keep the invoice and obtain written terms for the selected material and fitted work. | Duration, regional eligibility and exclusions must be specific. Do not assume a website-wide guarantee. |
Yes, you can share a reference to discuss the look. We still need to adapt the dimensions and panel breaks to your vehicle. Original artwork or a usable design file can help with custom work.
Ask us to inspect the kit before a booking is confirmed. Its dimensions, material condition and fitting instructions need to suit the car. Customer-supplied material and any fitting cover should be stated separately.
Replacement vinyl stripes can be discussed after assessing the old material and paint. Adhesive cleanup, a visible outline from uneven fading or a weak respray may affect the result and cost.
They may conceal some color variation, but they will not repair a scratch, dent or loose paint. Surface defects can remain visible through the film and may require preparation first.
Compatibility needs to be checked for the actual products. Adhesion, later removal and the existing protection warranty may be affected. Tell us about the protection already fitted so the layers can be assessed.
Your vehicle model and the stripe location are enough to begin. A photo or design reference is optional. Contact Wrapping.ae at AMF Auto Services LLC, 39, Al Quoz, Dubai to discuss the layout and arrange a visit.
No. The four style amounts are earlier published starting figures with coverage and VAT treatment not established. A current quote needs the vehicle, stripe dimensions, material, covered panels, preparation and installation terms. The MINI catalog figure is a separate factory-accessory benchmark.
Possibly. Adhesive residue is different from uneven fading in the exposed paint. Cleaning may address residue, while a color difference can remain. Do not approve replacement stripes on the assumption that removal alone will make the whole panel look uniform.
A short pre-cut hood set generally involves less work than a multi-panel printed layout. Design approval, material ordering, removal and paint preparation can take longer than the fitting itself. Confirm the drop-off and collection schedule after those items are assessed.
Use the care instructions for the fitted film. Hand washing with soft materials is preferable to scrubbing edges or directing a strong water jet at them. 3M’s vehicle wrap guidance specifies waiting 72 hours before the first wash. Another product may require different instructions.
