Gloss black
Gloss has clear reflections and often works with existing shiny exterior trim. Its appearance changes with the light reflected in it, so a sample should be viewed beside the car rather than judged on a white desk or a phone screen.
Turn bright window surrounds, grille trim or a coordinated set of exterior details black with a fitted vinyl chrome delete. Choose gloss, satin or matte at Wrapping.ae in Al Quoz 4, Dubai, while keeping your existing body colour.

Start with window trim, the grille or a wider trim package. See the AED 1,500–4,000 market cost guide below.
Your trim choices
We wrap selected bright trim with vinyl while retaining the underlying parts. Choose the pieces you want to change and compare the finish beside the car before fitting.

Change the bright upper and lower surrounds on the agreed sides of the car. Black trim creates a continuous outline around the glass. Rubber seals, glass and existing black pillars stay separate.
Wrap a suitable outer surround, selected crossbars or individual slats. Tell us which bright areas you want changed so the quote covers the actual grille work. Radar badges and cameras follow the vehicle's restrictions.
Combine the windows and grille with suitable mirror caps, roof rails, handles or rear strips. We agree the included pieces and finish before fitting. You can also leave a badge or accent bright.
Send front, rear and side photos with your car model. These help us identify the parts and prepare your quotation.
Budget guidance
The parts you choose determine the fitting work. A grille surround is a different job from wrapping each slat, and window trim can be booked without the rest of the car.
Indicative Dubai market range for typical cars. The published guide does not specify a fixed set of trim pieces.
Market guide
VAT not stated
VAT is not stated in the published market guide. This example is not a Wrapping.ae fixed price or a price ceiling. Your quote lists the selected pieces, finish, preparation and VAT. Old-film removal and intricate grille work can change the cost.
Coverage by component
Two cars can have very different amounts of bright trim. Even the same model can change between equipment levels, so a full-delete label needs an actual list of parts behind it.
| Part of the car | Coverage to discuss | What can be separate |
|---|---|---|
| Window surrounds | Upper and lower bright strips on both sides, including the shape around the rear quarter window where fitted. | Black pillars, rubber seals and the glass itself. A narrow waistline strip is not the whole window surround. |
| Front grille | The outer surround, any bright crossbars and the individual slats that are suitable for film. | The badge, radar area, camera and deep inner surfaces. Wrapping the surround does not include every grille opening. |
| Mirror caps | The visible cap on one or both mirrors, with the agreed edge boundary. | The mirror base, lower housing, indicator, glass and camera. A cap is only part of the assembly. |
| Handles and rear trim | The selected handle faces, fixed covers and bright strips across the boot or tailgate. | Moving gaps, emergency-key access and touch-sensitive areas. Badges are individual choices. |
| Roof rails | Visible rail faces and the extent of wrapping around suitable ends and supports. | Feet, covers, hidden undersides and any part that needs removal for access. |
This level of detail is useful when comparing quotations. One price may cover the window surrounds and grille border, while another includes handles, rails and several badges. Neither is automatically better value until the included pieces and fitting work are clear.
Photographs from both sides and the front and rear are a good starting point. Small pieces can be easy to overlook when the car is shown from only one angle.
Finish coordination
A chrome delete changes the outline of the car more than its body colour. On a light-coloured car, dark window surrounds can create a strong edge around the glass. On a darker car, the same change may make the trim blend into the body and windows.
Gloss has clear reflections and often works with existing shiny exterior trim. Its appearance changes with the light reflected in it, so a sample should be viewed beside the car rather than judged on a white desk or a phone screen.
Satin softens reflections without looking completely flat. It can be useful when you want the bright trim to recede but still retain some definition. Compare it against the existing grille and mirror bases, which may have a different texture.
Matte creates a more muted finish. It can look noticeably different beside factory gloss-black pieces, so that contrast should be intentional. Its care also needs to preserve the sheen rather than polish it into a shine.
Look at the details that will remain. Glossy black pillars, painted mirror bases, wheels and the front grille already have their own finishes. A new black film can sit close to one of them without matching all of them exactly.
You can also leave some chrome deliberately. Keeping a badge or a single rear strip bright can give the design a focal point. A partial chrome delete should follow that choice rather than simply stopping when the most obvious pieces are covered.
If you are also considering a carbon-look wrap, choose its sheen alongside the trim finish. A glossy patterned roof and matte surrounds create a different combination from matching glossy details.
Wrapping.ae offers 3M vinyl wrapping, samples and design assistance. We help you compare finishes beside the car, confirm a suitable film and fit it to the agreed trim.

Method comparison
This service focuses on covering suitable trim with vinyl. Painting a part or replacing it with a factory black version changes the job and the options for returning to chrome later.
| Method | What changes | Returning to the original look |
|---|---|---|
| Vinyl chrome delete | A film covers the sound, prepared surface of the existing part. | Removal is possible, but the film's age, adhesive and trim condition affect the result. Weak finishes may lift and adhesive residue can remain. |
| Painting the trim | Preparation and paint alter the part's finish. This is separate refinishing work. | Paint does not peel away like a wrap. Restoring chrome can require refinishing or replacement parts. |
| Replacement trim | A compatible black part replaces the original trim piece. | Keeping the original parts may allow refitting later. Fit, clips, equipment and part availability need checking. |
Existing trim condition
Vinyl changes the appearance of a sound part. The condition underneath determines whether preparation is enough or the component needs attention first.
A stable bright finish can be prepared for a vinyl overlay. Wax, dressings and adhesive residue need removing, including deposits around narrow edges. The surface must suit the selected film as well as look clean.
Film attached to a loose finish has an unstable base. Rough defects can remain visible and the failing layer can lift. That piece needs a repair or replacement assessment before wrapping is promised.
Tell us which parts have been repainted or replaced. Their finish can carry a different removal risk from factory trim. Existing film and adhesive add preparation, and the condition below may only become clear during removal.
A cracked housing, loose strip or damaged grille needs the component fault addressed first. Vinyl does not restore its fit or strength. Replacement is a separate parts decision, with clips and built-in equipment checked for compatibility.

Installation detail
A long window strip may turn sharply around the rear quarter glass. A grille slat can have a narrow face with returns behind it. These shapes need different handling from a flat body panel, even when they use little material.
After preparation, the film is fitted to the selected faces and finished at the agreed boundaries. Excessive tension is not a substitute for a workable edge. Deep recesses or tight turns may need a planned join or a smaller wrapped area.
Some trim can be worked on in place. Other pieces need access behind an edge, with clips, seals and the condition of the fitting assessed before removal. Neither full disassembly nor an entirely in-place installation applies to every car.
Visible and hidden coverage are different. Point out any remaining chrome that matters to you, such as an underside exposed when a mirror folds. The quotation should identify whether that surface is included.
At handover, review the agreed pieces, joins and edge boundaries with the team. Keeping the selected film details also helps if a trim piece needs renewing later.
Working trim
Some bright trim is also part of an operating component. A handle can move, retract, recognise a touch or conceal a mechanical-key opening. A mirror can fold and carry an indicator or camera. These details need to remain usable after the appearance changes.
The fitting plan should identify those functions before deciding where film ends. It is not enough to judge a handle only with the door closed, or a folding mirror only in its normal driving position.
Film suitability around a touch-sensitive part is vehicle-specific. A successful installation on one model does not establish that the same coverage will work on another handle design.
A front emblem may sit in the path of radar equipment rather than being a purely decorative badge. The vehicle manufacturer's restrictions determine whether that area can be altered. It should not be covered just to achieve a uniform black appearance.
Cameras, parking sensors, lights and grille airflow openings also need to remain unobstructed. This does not mean every grille or badge has identical restrictions. It means the actual equipment has to be identified on the car.
Where the work includes moving components, the handover check should include their normal operation. Door handles must remain accessible, mirrors should retain their intended movement, and the agreed film boundaries should be clear.
If an accessory or aftermarket body part is fitted, mention it when enquiring. Its shape and function may differ from the factory component shown in a standard model photograph.
Keeping the finish
Wrapped trim still needs normal cleaning. Use clean, soft washing materials and products suited to the film. Avoid picking at edges or directing a strong pressure-washer jet into a join.
Abrasive polish can change the sheen of satin or matte vinyl. Treat that finish according to its care guidance rather than trying to buff it to the shine of adjacent paint.
If a wrapped trim piece is scratched or lifting, have that area checked rather than cutting it back or covering it with another strip. It may be possible to replace the affected piece of film without repeating the whole chrome delete. Matching depends on the existing finish, its age and the availability of the selected film.
Removal is separate work and may involve adhesive cleanup. Weak plating, earlier paint repairs and ageing film can affect the result. Tell us before fitting if returning to the original bright trim later is part of your plan.
Chrome delete changes the trim colour. It does not provide the same protection as paint protection film or make a grille resistant to every stone impact.
Before you decide
Choose the parts you want changed first. We can then work through finish matching, access and any sensitive equipment on your model.
Yes. Window surrounds can be discussed as a separate job, with the exact strips and sides named in the quote. Mirror caps, roof rails, badges and the grille are additional areas rather than automatic inclusions.
Vinyl can be professionally removed, subject to the condition of the underlying finish and the age of the installation. Adhesive residue or weak coatings can complicate removal. Painting the original trim is a different, more permanent change.
Film choice, preparation, exposure and care all affect its condition. Narrow edges and frequently touched handles can wear differently from a protected trim face. We explain the selected film and any applicable cover for the work without treating every part as having the same lifespan.
It may be close, but black trim can differ in sheen, texture and colour. Comparing a sample against the car is useful before choosing the film. Consistency across the wrapped pieces is easier to plan than an exact match to every existing surface.
The number of parts, grille complexity, preparation and any necessary removal affect the fitting time. Send photographs when enquiring so the estimated collection time relates to the actual work.
