Color change and paint protection

Mercedes Car Wrap and PPF in Dubai

Change your Mercedes color with vinyl wrapping or protect its painted panels with PPF.

Compare finishes, coverage and fitting options at our Al Quoz workshop, from one roof panel to a full exterior installation. Choose the look first, then review the material, included work and total.

Choose the result first

Change the color or protect the paint?

These are different purchases. A satin black vinyl wrap changes the appearance of your Mercedes. Clear PPF helps protect suitable painted surfaces while keeping the underlying color visible. A liquid ceramic coating is a separate surface treatment.

For a different look

Mercedes vinyl wrapping

Choose an exterior color change, a contrast roof or selected accents. Gloss gives stronger reflections. Satin softens them. Matte has the lowest sheen and needs a suitable care routine.

  • Full exterior or clearly named individual panels
  • Solid colors, metallic effects and selected textures
  • Original color may remain visible inside door openings

Best reason to choose it You want a new appearance without commissioning a paint respray.

For a protective film layer

Mercedes paint protection film

Compare front-end protection with full-body coverage. PPF can help reduce minor impact and surface wear, but it cannot prevent every stone chip, scratch or dent.

  • Transparent gloss or a suitable lower-sheen finish
  • A named manufacturer and series on the quote
  • Panel list, edge treatment and warranty stated separately

Best reason to choose it Preserving the current paint appearance is your main concern.

Want easier cleaning as well? Ceramic coating can be discussed on its own or over compatible film. It does not replace the physical barrier of PPF. Putting PPF over vinyl is also a separate compatibility decision, not an automatic part of a color-change wrap.

Compare the included work

Mercedes wrapping prices and inclusions

The following are Wrapping.ae’s published vehicle-category guide ranges. They help establish a budget, but they are not fixed prices for every Mercedes. The final quote depends on the selected film, body shape and condition.

Roof, hood or trunk

AED 1,200–2,000Guide range for the stated scope

One exterior panel in color-change vinyl. Identify the panel and finish. Mirrors, adjoining trim and old-film removal are separate unless listed.

Full sedan exterior

AED 8,000–15,000Guide range for the stated scope

A guide for an exterior color change on a sedan such as a C-Class or E-Class. Agree the roof, bumpers and mirror caps. Door shuts are additional scope.

Full SUV or 4x4 exterior

AED 15,000–25,000Guide range for the stated scope

A guide for the larger vehicle category. A GLC, GLE or G-Class needs its own panel list, material choice and trim-access discussion.

VAT treatment, paint preparation, existing-film removal and any extra trim work are confirmed in your written quote. Compare the final VAT-inclusive total. A low price for one panel is not a full-car price.

Separate from vinyl wrapping

Mercedes PPF pricing

A Mercedes PPF package needs its own quote. Compare full-front and full-body coverage using the same manufacturer, film series and finish. A color-change vinyl price does not apply to protective film.

  • Full-front coverage Name the hood, front bumper, front fenders and eligible painted mirror caps.
  • Full-body coverage Add the agreed side and rear panels, with roof and trim coverage listed individually.
  • Additional work Identify paint correction, old-film removal, coating removal and specialist finishes separately.

Your written quote sets the product, fitting, panel coverage and final payable total before you approve installation.

Compare complete fitted work. Alongside the film, check cleaning and preparation, installation, any trim removal and refitting, edge finishing and the final inspection. Paint repair, door openings and removal of an old wrap should have their own line when required.

Protect the finish you already chose

Have Mercedes Magno paint?

Magno is Mercedes factory matte paint. A matte vinyl wrap over gloss paint is a different finish and needs a different preparation plan.

Keep the matte character

Do not polish factory matte paint. Polishing and unsuitable gloss products can change its appearance. Marks and repairs need assessment before covering.

  1. Identify the surfaceFactory matte paint, a repaint or existing film changes the fitting and removal discussion.
  2. Check the proposed filmCheck the care guidance for your Mercedes paint finish alongside the film manufacturer’s substrate instructions. Repaired panels need a separate assessment.
  3. Approve the sheenView the chosen film before a full installation. Satin PPF can change the perceived finish.

Check the finish in natural light

A generic matte label does not guarantee a match to every Magno finish. Small uncovered areas may make a difference in sheen more noticeable.

Choose coverage around your driving

Front PPF or full-body PPF?

Focus on the front

Full-front PPF

Start here when highway chips are the main concern.

  • Front bumper and complete hood
  • Front fenders
  • Eligible painted mirror caps

The benefit
Concentrate the film budget on forward-facing painted panels. Confirm a full hood rather than a partial strip.

Extend around the car

Full-body PPF

Compare this when you also want film on the side and rear painted surfaces.

  • Agreed full-front coverage
  • Doors and rear quarters
  • Rear bumper and trunk lid or tailgate
  • Painted roof, pillars and sills only where named in the package

The benefit
Broader exterior coverage. Compare both quotes using the same named film so the difference is clear.

Look closely at the finish

Panel coverage is only half the quote

Ask which edges wrap around and which finish short. Pattern design and access matter. Complex shapes may need a join or inlay, and boundaries can remain visible close up.

Roof glass, lights, textured plastics, wheels and interior trim are separate surfaces. Have exclusions written down before fitting.

Explore our paint protection film service or compare finishes on the XPEL PPF page. Local supply and warranty eligibility must be confirmed for your quote.

Bodywork and fitting details

What changes from one Mercedes to another?

C-Class, E-Class and S-Class

Sedan size is only the starting point. Bumper style, painted mirror housings, panoramic roof and chrome trim affect what can be included. Ask which parts remain in their original finish and how the wrap meets handles and window surrounds.

GLC, GLE and G-Class

Larger side panels use more material, while trim and recessed shapes add fitting time. On a G-Class, discuss exposed hinges, the spare-wheel cover and separate accessories. A simple SUV price label does not explain those details.

AMG and coupe bodywork

Splitters, spoilers, vents and aftermarket carbon parts need individual decisions. A deep bumper recess may require an inlay. Clear-coated carbon, repaired parts and textured trim must not be treated as interchangeable painted panels.

Edges and trim access

Agree any badge, handle or trim removal before work starts. The quote should cover refitting and any known replacement clips. Door shuts, engine bays and hidden inner surfaces are not automatically included in a full exterior color change.

Keep equipment working

Camera lenses, sensor areas, cooling openings, washer outlets and moving gaps need an appropriate fitting plan. Wrapping must not obstruct them. The actual model and equipment determine the exclusions.

Two ways a quote can differ

Mercedes budget examples

These are typical job estimates based on our published category guides, not completed customer projects. They show how body shape and included panels affect the budget. Film selection, inspection findings, extras and VAT treatment determine the written total.

Typical job estimate

2021 Mercedes C-Class sedan

Exterior color change using a selected 3M vinyl on sound painted panels. Compare a gloss or satin sample and list the roof, bumpers and mirror caps. This example excludes door shuts, paint repair and removal of existing film.

AED 8,000–15,000

Published sedan guide before the final job-specific quote. The intended result is a consistent new exterior color, with agreed original-color areas remaining inside openings.

Typical job estimate

2022 Mercedes GLC

Full exterior vinyl color change for an SUV with the product and covered painted parts agreed first. Roof glass and textured lower trim are not included as painted body panels. Existing damage or extra dismantling changes the work.

AED 15,000–25,000

Published SUV guide rather than a fixed GLC tariff. VAT, preparation and optional accents are itemized in the final quote so the total can be compared fairly.

When reviewing installation examples, look closely at bumper corners, handle recesses and roof edges. A distant finished-car photo tells you much less about the fitting than a close view of those areas.

A clear handover plan

What happens after you get in touch?

Tell us your model and whether you want a new color, paint protection or both. Photos and the model year help, but you do not need a film code or technical specification to start.

Inspect and select

The paint is checked for chips, failing clear coat, resprays and previous film or coating. View a physical finish sample. Any repairs or additional preparation are discussed before installation.

Approve and fit

Review the material, panel coverage, total and collection plan. Allow a few days for a full color change. Removal, difficult trim access or paint repair can extend the schedule. A PPF job receives its own timing estimate.

Review and collect

Check the agreed edges, joins and exclusions at handover. Keep the film identity, care instructions and applicable warranty record. Collection timing should allow for the final inspection rather than only the time spent applying film.

One panel or a roof accent

A small job usually needs less fitting time than a full exterior. Old adhesive, trim access and preparation can still affect collection. Ask for the fitting slot and expected pickup time together.

Full vinyl or PPF coverage

Allow a few days for a complete color change. PPF receives a separate schedule based on the selected coverage. Material ordering, repairs and removal are separate lead-time factors, so the car does not need to arrive before the work is ready to begin.

A wrap follows the surface underneath it. Loose paint, uneven repairs and failing clear coat need attention before fitting.

After the handover

Keep the finish looking the way you chose it

Sun, washing habits and the fitted film all affect the finish. Start with your product care sheet, especially for roof panels that face more sun than vertical doors.

Everyday care

Wash for your finish

  • Follow the film’s waiting period before the first wash.
  • Use compatible cleaners and remove contamination promptly.
  • Avoid aggressive brushes and pressure jets aimed at edges.
  • Use care products intended for matte or textured surfaces.

Local damage

Replace one panel

A scuffed section may be replaceable without rewrapping the car. We first check the film and the paint beneath it.

Check the color matchFresh vinyl can look different from aged film, even with the original color code.

A future change

Plan film removal

Removal depends on the product, its age and the paint condition. Repainted or deteriorating panels can lift, and adhesive cleanup may be needed.

Assess it separatelyRemoval needs its own assessment. A damage-free return to original paint cannot be guaranteed.

Know your coverage

Film warranty and fitting support

Check the duration, exclusions and remedy for each before approving the work.

The film itself

Manufacturer coverage depends on the exact product, UAE eligibility and panel orientation. The longest advertised period does not automatically apply to every roof, vinyl wrap or PPF installation.

The fitted work

Installation concerns are assessed under the workshop terms in your job documents. Keep these with your invoice and film details. Accidents, vandalism and incorrect care are excluded from the stated support.

A lifting edge or a new mark?

Leave the material in place and send a clear photo of the affected panel with your job details. Avoid pulling the film, adding glue or using household solvents before assessment.

Get help with my wrap

Film choices for your Mercedes

Wrapping.ae offers 3M vinyl wrapping. Choose a physical sample and record the exact series, finish and color code on the quote. Product availability and the suitability of a particular finish are checked for your car.

Color change vinyl

Gloss, satin and matte finishes alter reflections differently. Compare a sample across a curved panel, particularly if the roof or trim will keep its original color.

Paint protection film

Choose coverage and sheen together. Ask for the exact supplied product, its UAE warranty terms and its care sheet. Clear PPF and ordinary styling vinyl serve different purposes.

Edges and replacement panels

Discuss wrapped returns, visible boundaries and any necessary inlays. Keep the product code after fitting so a damaged panel can be assessed for replacement. New film may differ from aged surrounding material.

Before you choose

Mercedes wrapping questions

How much does a Mercedes wrap cost?

Our published vinyl guides are AED 1,200–2,000 for one exterior panel, AED 8,000–15,000 for a sedan exterior and AED 15,000–25,000 for an SUV or 4x4 exterior. They are planning ranges, not fixed model prices. Film, coverage, preparation, removal and the tax basis are set out in the written quote. PPF is quoted separately.

How long will my Mercedes stay at the workshop?

Allow a few days for a complete vinyl color change. A single panel and a PPF installation need their own schedules. Removal, paint repairs and material availability can add time. Agree the fitting date and collection plan before leaving the car.

What warranty comes with the installation?

Check the film manufacturer’s applicable UAE coverage separately from the workshop’s fitting support. Your documents should state the duration, covered panels, exclusions and remedy for each. No single warranty period applies to every film and installation.

Can I get a matte Mercedes look without repainting?

A suitable matte or satin vinyl can change the appearance of sound gloss paint. Compare a physical sample and include all intended panels in the quote. That is different from installing film over existing factory Magno paint.

Does wrapping hide scratches or chipped paint?

It may change what you notice from a distance, but chips, dents and uneven repairs can remain visible through film. Loose paint and clear coat need attention first. A wrap is not a paint repair.

Which PPF brand will be fitted?

The supplied manufacturer, product series and finish are confirmed in the written quotation. Do not assume that a named product, stock item or regional warranty applies until it is listed for your job.

Can you wrap only the roof or chrome trim?

Selected panels and compatible trim can be quoted separately. Roof glass, rubber seals and sensor or camera areas need exclusions. A roof quote does not automatically include mirrors or window surrounds.

Will wrapping increase resale value?

There is no guaranteed increase. Paint condition, maintenance, buyer preference and removal history all matter. Keep before-installation photographs and the product documents so a future buyer can understand what was done.

What about color-change paperwork?

A full or partial color change may affect the vehicle’s recorded appearance. Discuss the design before fitting and check the current Dubai Police and RTA requirements for your registration. Any approvals and related fees are separate from the wrap unless expressly included.
