Price and quote planning

Full Car Wrap
Cost in Dubai

Plan AED 8,400–15,750 for a full sedan exterior or AED 15,750–26,250 for a full 4×4 or SUV, including 5% VAT. These ranges cover exterior color-vinyl planning. Confirm the film, included panels and any additional preparation or removal before agreeing the final quote.

Start with the published full-wrap budgets

Start with your vehicle category, then price the chosen film on the agreed panels. A full exterior guide does not include every inner opening or resolve the condition of paint hidden beneath an old wrap. Those details belong in the quote.

The VAT-inclusive totals match our published wrap price guides. The table also shows the original amounts before VAT so you can check the 5% calculation. Additional preparation, old-film removal and separately agreed work must appear in the quotation with their applicable VAT. They are planning ranges rather than a fixed package for every car, and they do not establish a tariff for printed graphics, interior trim, paint protection film or every specialty finish.

A price outside a guide range is a reason to check the proposal, not proof that the job is poor or overpriced. Two businesses may be quoting different films, door-opening coverage or preparation. Establish those differences before comparing their totals.

For a useful first inquiry, give the make, model, year and body style, then describe the intended color and finish. Include clear photographs of the whole vehicle and any damaged or previously wrapped panels. A model name alone cannot show a body kit, an old coating or the condition underneath an existing wrap.

Make coverage a priced line item

Before comparing full-wrap totals, settle the panel list using the full versus partial coverage guide. Then ask the quote to separate the agreed exterior work from any additional openings, accessories or trim access.

Line itemWhat the amount should describe

A change to this list should have a recorded price before work proceeds. Avoid comparing one quote including door jambs with another covering only the closed exterior.

Price the exact film rather than a color name

“Satin black” describes an appearance, not a complete product specification. Ask for the manufacturer, product range, color code and finish. A proposal naming an automotive wrapping film is easier to assess than one that says only premium vinyl.

Compare a physical sample beside the car. Gloss, satin and matte change the reflections, while metallic and color-shift films may look different over a curve or from another angle. A phone photograph cannot reliably settle the color. Choosing the exact sample before ordering reduces the chance of paying to change a finish that was misunderstood.

Confirm that the selected product is intended for the vehicle surfaces and shapes involved. Cast and calendered describe different film constructions, but a construction label alone does not settle compatibility. The product’s fitting instructions, conformability and permitted application matter more than a generic premium or budget description.

Some films also need a consistent application direction. The linked Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film data sheet specifies this for metallic, pearlescent and ColorFlow films and warns of differences between rolls or lots. Material planning and a later replacement panel need to account for these requirements.

A printed design involves a different quotation. It can require artwork preparation, a color proof, printing, compatible lamination and alignment across panels. Clarify revisions and approval before production. A single-color exterior wrap should not quietly become the price reference for a detailed printed livery.

Keep decorative vinyl separate from PPF. Clear, satin and color protective films have their own specifications and fitting scope. If stone-chip protection is the main objective, compare the actual protective product rather than assuming that a more expensive color wrap delivers the same function. Ask for separate proposals when the material category changes.

Account for the shape and fitting work

A larger body usually needs more material, but surface area is only part of the cost. Deep bumper recesses, vents, spoilers, roof rails and aftermarket parts change access and the fitting plan. A small sports car can involve more detailed work than a larger car with simpler panels.

Film positioning and fitting form part of the quoted installation work.

Film is cut from rolls and arranged around the shape, finish direction and planned joins. The quantity purchased cannot be worked out accurately from the visible panel area alone. Do not divide a full-wrap price by the number of panels to estimate the cost of a hood or a single replacement door.

Ask which components will be removed and refitted. A quote should identify necessary access work rather than promising that every handle, lamp or bumper will always be removed. Component removal needs an appropriate method and a clear plan for clips, seals, electrical connections and refitting.

Check what happens if a worn fixing breaks or an existing component fault is discovered. Agree whether replacement parts require separate approval and how their cost will be recorded. That discussion is more useful than assuming every possible part is included in the installation price.

Ask for the expected workshop schedule after the scope is agreed. Removing old material, completing paint repairs or ordering a chosen film can affect the booking. Confirm when the vehicle is needed and when it should be ready for inspection. A short advertised fitting time does not describe every stage of your project.

Separate preparation from paint repair and old-film removal

Normal fitting preparation and repairing damaged paint are different jobs. Ask what cleaning and preparation are included, then identify any additional repair work before approving the wrap. Polishing is not automatically required on every vehicle, and it cannot restore missing or unstable clear coat.

Paint defects need assessment before fitting costs are agreed.

Chips, dents, corrosion, rough repairs and peeling coatings need assessment. Vinyl follows the surface rather than flattening a dent or rebuilding the paint. Wrapping more of the body is not a solution for failing paint underneath it.

Avery Dennison’s product instructions list poorly bonded paint and insufficiently cured coatings among unsuitable conditions. This is the European product data sheet, so confirm the current document and conditions for the film’s supply region. It also lists non-OEM painted vehicles as an unsuitable use. Disclose repainted panels and establish the manufacturer-supported application before accepting a quote. Dry-looking paint alone does not establish suitability.

If repairs are needed, obtain their scope and price separately. Include any waiting period required by the paint system before adhesive film is applied. A paint surface being dry to the touch does not establish that it is suitable for wrapping. Do not set a collection date that ignores the repair and curing stages.

Existing-film removal also needs its own allowance. Tell the workshop how long the material has been fitted and whether it is cracked, brittle, lifting or layered over older graphics. A small removable graphic and a weathered full exterior can require very different work.

Distinguish stripping the film, cleaning remaining adhesive and dealing with the revealed paint. Ask what can be quoted before removal and what requires assessment afterward. Agree how additional findings will be photographed and priced before new work proceeds. This is particularly useful when the original finish has been hidden for years.

Identify extras and approval charges before booking

An optional coating, extra door-shut coverage or a printed design should be visible in the proposal. Keep additions separate from the work needed to make the included panels suitable. You can then decide which extras support the result you want and which can be left out.

A coating over vinyl is a product-specific choice. Check compatibility with the film and finish, its intended benefit and its written terms. Do not buy it on a general promise that it adds one or two years to every wrap. It also does not replace the film’s required cleaning and maintenance.

For a Dubai-registered vehicle changing color, resolve the required approval before the color is changed. The RTA’s vehicle inspection guidance describes obtaining a color-change permit through the relevant Dubai Police process for licensed vehicles. Confirm the current route and requirements for your vehicle.

Identify permit, inspection and vehicle-record charges separately. If the workshop is assisting, ask which application it handles and whether its administration charge is distinct from an authority fee. The phrase RTA included should not leave you guessing which stages have been covered.

Commercial advertising is a separate design and approval discussion. A personal color change and a company-branded vehicle need not follow the same process. For a leased, financed or company-owned vehicle, establish the necessary owner permission before ordering the film. Include applicable insurance or ownership requirements in the booking plan.

Compare the final payable total

Ask whether each figure already includes VAT. The UAE Government’s VAT guidance confirms the 5% rate. The quote should identify the applicable tax treatment and the amount payable rather than leaving you to infer it from a headline price.

The example below shows how a quote stated before VAT becomes a payable total. These assumed amounts explain the calculation rather than setting a package price. Every example item is assumed to be subject to 5% VAT. Authority fees and other work are outside this calculation.

Worked example in AED with assumed charges
ItemBefore VATIncluding 5% VAT
Film and fitting10,00010,500
Agreed preparation1,0001,050
Old-film removal1,0001,050
Total12,00012,600

A quote of AED 11,000 before VAT becomes AED 11,550 where the whole amount is subject to 5% VAT. A second quote of AED 11,500 including VAT is AED 50 lower only if both cover the same work. Read the tax basis before deciding that the smaller headline amount is cheaper.

If a quoted figure already includes VAT, do not add it again. Likewise, an agreed deposit is normally a payment toward the stated total, not another line of work. Ask how much remains payable after the deposit and when that balance is due.

Check whether optional items, changes and third-party charges are included in the total you are comparing. Keep their tax treatment clear. A written total for the agreed job is easier to review than several amounts scattered across a message thread.

Make competing proposals comparable

Start with the same car, coverage and intended finish. Then put each proposal beside the panel list and product specification. A matching heading does not prove that the quoted work matches.

Questions that reveal a scope difference
CompareAsk each installer
MaterialWhich manufacturer, product range, color code and finish?
CoverageWhich exterior panels, edges and inner areas are included?
PreparationWhat cleaning, removal or paint work is included or excluded?
AccessWhich parts are removed and refitted, and how are replacement fixings handled?
TermsWhat is the final VAT-inclusive total, schedule and warranty scope?

For example, one quote might include old-film removal while another begins with already exposed, suitable paint. Bring both proposals to the same starting condition before treating the difference as a saving. If a price covers fewer surfaces, recognize it as a different scope rather than silently assuming those surfaces will be added.

A low figure does not prove that the material will fail, and a high figure does not guarantee the finish. Ask for identifiable products and a clear fitting plan. Genuine examples of similar work can help you assess visible edge treatment, but they do not replace the written terms for your vehicle.

Separate a material warranty from the installer’s workmanship cover. Ask who responds to a concern, what is covered, which exclusions apply and whether removal or refitting labor is included in a remedy. A headline number of years cannot answer those questions.

Obtain a revised quotation before approving a different film, more inner surfaces or a repair. Keep the earlier version so the change in scope and amount is clear.

Budget for work outside the initial installation

Compare the initial payable total with foreseeable later costs. The figures need to match your vehicle and intended period of ownership. A headline durability figure cannot tell you when a particular panel will need repair or removal.

  • Maintenance Check the wash method and compatible products the selected film requires.
  • Panel replacement Ask how removal, access and a possible finish mismatch affect a later repair.
  • Eventual removal Identify whether removal is included, priced later or supplied separately.
  • Changes to the design Keep artwork and film records so a later addition can be specified.

If the full exterior exceeds the budget, reconsider the panels you want to change. Keep essential preparation and identified materials in the proposal. Reducing coverage is a clearer choice than paying for an undefined film or leaving unstable paint unresolved.

Allow for a later repair and the time off the road

A later replacement-panel quote should include removal of the damaged film, surface preparation and necessary access work. Separate bodywork from wrapping so the repair total remains clear.

For a printed design, replacing one panel may require the original artwork, print settings and laminate specification. For a solid finish, retain the product code and batch record. Before authorizing a repair, compare the replacement sample with the existing panels and decide whether any visible difference is acceptable. Ordering the same color name alone does not settle that decision.

Allow for alternative transport during the booking. Confirm any collection or delivery charge in the offer rather than assuming it is included.

Avery Dennison’s linked data sheet distinguishes vertical and horizontal exposure and identifies environmental conditions and maintenance as durability factors. Confirm the terms for the exact film and supply region. Do not divide the installation price into a guaranteed annual cost using another product’s durability term.

Keep the booking and handover clear

Check the quotation’s validity date and whether the selected film is in stock or needs ordering. Ask if the amount is fixed for the agreed booking or subject to a named supply charge. If your booking moves beyond that date, obtain a renewed offer before arranging transport. This keeps a time-limited material price from being mistaken for an open-ended promise.

Before paying a deposit, retain the approved sample reference, panel list, preparation findings and current quotation. Record the completion estimate, payment stages, cancellation terms and what happens if the selected film is unavailable. Ask whether a change in material or timing needs your approval.

Use the condition photographs at handover to discuss the agreed result. Check included panels, accessible edges, planned joins and refitted parts with the workshop. Keep the invoice, product details, warranty terms and care instructions together so a later inquiry can refer to the actual installation.

If the finished work differs from the agreement, record the panel or component and discuss the correction before approving unrelated additions.

Questions about full car wrap cost

How much does a full car wrap cost in Dubai?

Wrapping.ae’s planning ranges including 5% VAT are AED 8,400–15,750 for a full sedan exterior and AED 15,750–26,250 for a full 4×4 or SUV exterior. They refer to color vinyl on agreed outer painted panels. Additional preparation, old-film removal, inner surfaces and other work are quoted separately.

Should I add 5% VAT to a car wrap quote?

Add 5% only to amounts stated before VAT where that rate applies. Do not add it again to a VAT-inclusive figure. For example, AED 12,000 before 5% VAT becomes AED 12,600. The quotation should show its tax basis and final payable total.

Are door jambs included in a full car wrap?

Not automatically. A full exterior proposal can leave recessed inner door areas in the original paint. Ask for those surfaces to be named in the coverage plan and quoted separately when required.

Can I use a vinyl-wrap price to budget for colored PPF?

No. Confirm the protective film, coverage and fitting scope in a separate proposal. A similar color or the word wrap does not make the material and installation equivalent.

Is the cheapest quote always a poor choice?

No. Check the exact product, condition assessment, coverage and written terms. The price alone cannot establish quality. It also cannot show whether VAT or necessary work has been left out.

Does a long warranty mean the whole car is covered for that time?

Not necessarily. Check the product, exposure conditions, covered defects, exclusions and remedy. Material coverage and installation workmanship are separate questions, and different finishes or surfaces may have different terms.

Can a full wrap replace a needed paint repair?

No. Unstable paint, peeling coatings, corrosion and dents need assessment before film is fitted. Agree the repair and its cost first rather than paying for vinyl to conceal an unresolved surface problem.
