Makita’s HG6531CK/2 UK technical sheet lists electronic control, variable temperature and airflow, a thermal safety switch and a 2 m cable. Compare the handle, controls and cable reach against your working position. Weldy HG 330-S for a wrap-focused corded kit
The Weldy HG 330-S Car Wrapping Kit specification lists a 5 m cable, stepless temperature adjustment by rotary knob and two airflow stages. When corded makes sense and when cordless helps
Corded tools avoid battery changes during long jobs. Route the lead clear of paint, film and walking areas, with enough slack to move safely around the vehicle.
Cordless heat suits brief corrections or inconvenient socket access. For larger panels, check airflow, adjustment, warm-up and runtime with the specified battery. Battery voltage alone does not establish suitability.
Read wattage, temperature and airflow as separate figures
Watts describe electrical input, degrees describe air temperature and liters per minute describe airflow. Higher wattage alone does not mean finer control or better suitability for your film.
The compared corded models rate from 2000 W to 2300 W. This is not a universal minimum. Check the lower settings and adjustment steps as carefully as maximum output.
Airflow and nozzle shape change heat delivery. Low airflow does not make very hot air safe for vinyl. Battery amp-hours describe capacity under specified conditions, not guaranteed working minutes.

The gun’s setting is different from the film’s temperature
The gun’s display is not a film-temperature reading. Distance, movement, airflow and the panel’s starting temperature affect heat reaching the vinyl. Measure the surface separately using a suitable thermometer and the film’s instructions.

Choose a thermometer that suits the surface and access
Check the instrument's measuring range, stated accuracy, optical target size and supported surface settings. A narrow return needs a different measuring footprint from a broad door panel. More display digits do not establish better accuracy.
Decide whether a gun-mounted scanner or a separate thermometer fits your working position. Confirm mounting compatibility, viewing access, operating limits and whether the sensor is included in the kit.

Cooling moves air through the tool during shutdown. Standby or Eco-Mode reduces output while resting. Thermal protection responds to overheating inside the tool. None measures the vinyl surface.
Check whether standby is automatic or manual. The nozzle can remain hot after output falls. Follow cooling instructions before packing the tool or changing attachments.
Choose useful nozzles and leave room for the rest of the kit
Choose nozzles for the wrapping task, not the accessory count. Kits may include attachments for pipes, welding or paint removal. Confirm fit with the exact tool.
